Counting Money

Students primarily use play money, task cards, and the 100-chart to learn to count coins.  First year students began the year by identifying coins and using the 100-chart to count by tens with dimes and by fives with nickels.  Students then learned to count groups of dimes and pennies and nickels and pennies.  Second year students use similar task cards to count groups of mixed coins and complete money story problems.
