Latitude and Longitude

This activity was presented after students learned about the division of the earth into hemispheres using the Equator and the Prime Meridian. Students learned that the earth is further divided by parallel lines of longitude and latitude.  Using this activity, students were able to build and label the lines of latitude and longitude.  Then they wrote the coordinates of countries or found countries when given its coordinates.
