Nuts and Bolts

This activity uses pegboards, nuts, bolts, and yarn to practice practical life skills and math skills.  Students selected a grid and corresponding pegboard to create an image.  Points were marked on the grid and students placed a nut and bold in the corresponding place on the pegboard.  Once all the nuts and bolts were attached to the pegboard, students used yarn to create lines from one bolt to another.  This created an image (ex. hexagon, trapezoid, parallelogram).  Other students looked at the back of the grid and read the coordinates for each bolt.  Then they found the corresponding place on the pegboard and complete the activity.
